Round 14 for the Eco Performance Award: On March 22, 2022, Europe’s renowned sustainability prize was awarded under the motto “Innovations for Sustainable Road Freight Transport”. Our xpacks convinced the jury.
It’s Tuesday afternoon: Outside, the sun is shining, but inside it’s the smiles that are beaming. xpack green logistics has just been named “Transformer of the Year” in a digital ceremony. Alongside other companies with great sustainability concepts, xpack green logistics is now considered an “Eco Performer”.
After a multi-stage application process, the jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle, Executive Director of the Institute for Supply Chain Management at the University of St. Gallen, presented the Eco Performance Award in three categories.
These are the Eco Performers 2022
Österreichische Post AG (Austrian Post) won in the category “large companies”. It plans to deliver all letters and parcels in Austria completely emission-free by 2030 using electric vehicles and bicycles. Trailer Dynamics was awarded in the category “Start-up”. The start-up offers a semitruck trailer with an integrated, all-electric powertrain that supports the truck, converting diesel-powered semitrailer systems into plug-in hybrids. Overall, this can achieve diesel and CO2 savings of almost 20 %.
xpack green logistics convinced the jury in the category “Transformer of the Year”. Why? With xpacks, parcel shipping is designed to be holistically sustainable. From packaging through to the incentive and return processes, we unite all services through a cloud-based IT platform. Thanks to the reusable system, both packaging waste and around 80 % of CO2 emissions are avoided.

Transformer of the Year: the selection criteria
Sustainability is measured in three dimensions at the Eco Performance Award: economic, ecological and social. Whether it’s efficiency, damage prevention, resource efficiency or ergonomics, sustainability is at the core of xpack green logistics, which is why we were able to score in each of the criteria.
For the category “Transformer of the Year” neither company size nor age plays a role. The focus for this award is on the sustainable transformation process, which should achieve a large and lasting impact in a short time. In addition, a significant and immediate leverage potential of the concept is considered essential.
